The current agreement between the Teamsters union and UPS covers about 260,000 UPS workers, 93% of which voted in favor of striking if a favorable deal isn’t struck before its five-year contract with UPS expires at the end of July.
This gives the union more leverage in the intense ongoing negotiations that revolve around the way that pay and work schedules will be structured in UPS’ plans to expand to a 7-day delivery schedule.
