Thomas Andersen, Partner, Executive Vice President of Supply Chain Services

Thomas Andersen brings over 25 years of expertise in supply chain, logistics, and revenue management, with a specialized focus on small parcel contract negotiations and optimization since the early 2000s. Over the course of his career, Thomas has negotiated thousands of parcel agreements, serving as Senior Pricing Manager at DHL Express and working on behalf of clients with major carriers such as UPS, FedEx, Amazon, USPS, and regional logistics providers.

In March 2014, Thomas joined LJM Group as Partner and Vice President of Supply Chain and Logistics Services. As a key member of the executive team, he leads the Parcel Contract Negotiation and Management Services division, where his team handles the negotiation of 150 or more carrier agreements regularly. He is a recognized expert in the parcel industry, contributing to publications and speaking at industry conferences.

Thomas began his career at DHL Express in 2003, where he managed an annual revenue budget exceeding $2.5 billion. As Senior Pricing Manager, he led several groups within the pricing department and was instrumental in developing DHL’s internal activity-based cost model. His work provided deep insights into the costing and revenue drivers that continue to shape the industry. As the lead negotiator for many of DHL’s largest contractual clients, Thomas played a key role in optimizing pricing structures and managing complex pricing requests. He also managed large teams of Pricing Analysts responsible for reviewing and approving pricing for both new and existing customers. Additionally, he was a major contributor to the development of pricing guidelines, profitability analysis tools, and strategic direction for DHL Express.

In 2007, Thomas left DHL Express to launch and lead the consulting and contract negotiation divisions at Logica. As Vice President of Logistics & Supply Chain Services, he was part of Logica’s executive team and played a pivotal role in driving the company’s 93% growth over three years, including its inclusion on the Inc. 5000 list in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Under his leadership, Logica’s consulting division grew to account for 75% of the company’s revenue. In October 2012, Logica was acquired by AFS, and Thomas took on the role of VP of Revenue Management and Head of Parcel Contract Negotiation Services for AFS, where he oversaw a $10.6 billion annual shipping spend. He was responsible for all aspects of parcel contract negotiations, optimization, benchmarking, tools development, and cost management.

A highly respected thought leader in the supply chain industry, Thomas is frequently sought after to speak at industry events and contribute to publications. He holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and an MBA (1998).
